Job Title: Water/Wastewater SupervisorMusts: High School Diploma/GED and four years experience in water andwastewater utilities or infrastructure construction trades or equivalentcombination of education and experience. Current Colorado Class B CDL orability to obtain within three months of hire.Incumbent must hold Class 2 Water Distribution and Wastewater Collectioncertificates issued by the State of Colorado and successfully obtain Class 3certificates upon achieving minimum time on the job. Must be able to passpre-employment drug/alcohol test and other testing required by the Citythroughout employment.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Knowledge within six months of hire oflocation of water distribution valves, water pressure reduction valves,water supply head gate structure, transferring flow from water storagelakes, and pumping water from Lathrop State Park lakes.Knowledge and skill in water and sewer main construction techniques.Knowledge of water and sewer main components.Knowledge of operating water valves to isolate areas to be constructedand/or maintained to ensure limited effect on the entire water system.Ability to efficiently operate vehicles and heavy equipment including, butnot limited to, dump trucks, front end loaders and backhoes.Skill in math in order to perform necessary calculations to estimatevolumes, flows, etc. Ability to read maps and other location documents.Duties: Incumbent plans, directs, leads, and participates inmaintenance and repair activities involving water distribution and wastewatercollection systems. Water/Wastewater System Maintenance and repair; Worksthrough and with crew leaders and staff on various projects and maintenanceactivities to maintain the water distribution system, raw water collectionand delivery system, and wastewater collection system including maintenanceand repair of water tanks and of the wastewater lift stations. Map and GISMaintenance and Improvement Maintains City water distribution and wastewatercollection system maps and communicates with GIS professionals to ensure allmapping is up to date and accurate. Present regular update reports ofactivities to employer. Works with Administrator to plan capital improvementprojects, capital purchases, and operating budgets and managing them andprojects during the year. Other Duties as Assigned Can vary day to day basedon identified needs of employer.Start Date: Upon hireWage: Negotiable; based on qualifications. Exempt position.Shift: Monday-Friday 8 am - 4 pm; position will not be eligible forovertime compensation.Job Site/Work environment: Incumbent generally performs tasks that requirea variety of physical activities that may involve muscular strain, such aswalking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, bending and lifting.Daily tasks require talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye, hand,finger dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details,verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking andcreative problem solving.
