What Success Looks Like In This Job
Oversees and guides the accomplishment of legal assistants and administrative support staff within the District Attorney's Office. Performs daily supervision of support staff and performs tasks necessary for that supervision including but not limited to performance reviews, coverage assignments, leave requests, staff meetings, training and other duties as assigned. Serves as member of the District Attorney’s Leadership & Management Team.
Examples of Duties for Success
Leads and manages a team of professionals in their daily work at the District Attorney’s Office
Provides guidance and oversight to the team that he/she supervises and provides advice and counsel to the District Attorney as a member of the Leadership & Management Team.
Supervises the administrative support functions of the District Attorney's Office. Coordinates and plans work flow between units and between District Court and/or County Court; maintains staff work/coverage schedules; work flow and peak period response; assures proper data is entered into case management and electronic filing cabinet systems.
Ensures correct data entry, review of parameters, accuracy of information, and reporting within designated deadlines.
Designs work flow processes to ensure timely work product. Make recommendations on changes in workflow or work assignments.
May perform or assist with substantial legal assistant and paralegal duties as needed.
Collaboratively works with Information Technology to communicate problems associated with changes and/or revisions to processes or case management software.
Recommends hiring, promotion, evaluation, discipline, and related employee actions.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to manage sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner and to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills so as to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Supervisory experience and demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team & office setting; ability to hire, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel.
Knowledge of legal office procedures and practices.
Knowledge of Colorado statutes, court rules, rules of evidence and rules of ethics.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member and as a leader.
Ability to establish and fulfill goals and objectives.
Ability to work effectively and in a timely manner when faced with high volume of work, multiple deadlines, frequent interruptions.
Ability to plan long and short-range projects to include outlines, time lines, estimated staff and material costs, and be able to convey the process and outcome to varied audiences.

Leadership and management experience and commitment to being a leader of integrity.
Knowledge of criminal justice system and its processes and procedures.
Experience:Five (5) years experience in an administrative or legal office setting.
Education:Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.

Any equivalent combination of experience or education that satisfy the requirements of the job.
May be required to travel to/from satellite offices located in Adams and Broomfield County therefore, must have or have the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Colorado driver's license.
Must pass a criminal (CBI) background check.

Employees in this class that are regular part-time (less than 30 hours per week); project-designated part-time (PJ2 less than 30 hours per week), or temporary are afforded no benefits.
