GRADE: G22 (Hourly Range/Step 1 - Step 8: $24.23 - $29.87)MINIMUM HOURLY RATE: $24.23STANDARD HOURS PER WEEK: 40FTE: 1.0MONTHS PER YEAR: 12JOB CODE: 1453POSITION TYPE: REPLACEMENT - REGULARLOCATION: THORNTON, CO.SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing and maintaining and repairing alldistrict HVAC equipment. Specific duties include repairing, rebuildingand replacing bearings, motors, heat exchanges, air conditioningcompressors, heating boilers, ventilation and air conditioning systems;order and maintain inventory. Respond to departmental emergencies andparticipate in the HVAC on call program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully,an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Analyze, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, adjustand replace mechanical equipment and geo thermal systems such as, but notlimited to, bearings, motors, heat exchanges, boilers, ventilatingand air conditioning compressors, water and pneumatic valves, humiditycontrol units, coolers, freezers and exhaust hoods.2. Analyze, troubleshoot, install repair, rebuild, replaceand adjust pneumatic, electrical and electro-pneumatic and buildingautomation systems. Query and monitor control systems as they relate toenergy management and preventative maintenance operations.3. Order and maintain inventory of heating, ventilating and airconditioning parts through the use of district information technology systems.4. Inspect and verify the operation and safety of all heatingboilers, roof top units, air handling units and ventilation systems.5. Repair and maintain all aspects of high voltage controls,equipment voltage and control voltages. Respond to emergencies in building.6. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate or degree from accredited/approved HVAC technicalschool required. Minimum of two (2) years of similar or relevant experience required.LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS: Criminal background check required for hire. Valid Colorado driver's license. Current E.P.A./C.F.C. certification or the ability to obtain. Ability to successfully complete a pre-hire, post-offerphysical examination.SALARY INFORMATION:Salary placement on our Classified Salary schedule is dependent on the Gradefor the position being posted and employees' previous work experience."Grade" refers to position or job classification and "Step" refers tothe number of work experience credit or service years. Initial placement willbe at the Grade for the position step 1. All Newly hired classifiedemployees are placed initially on Step 1 of the pay grade for their position.Classified employees can advance an additional 7 steps (maximum Step 8)based on their previous experience.
