As a Production Manager you will be a part of the management team and help to manage the facility and the people to produce animal nutrition products as efficiently as possible while meeting all of Cargill Animal Nutrition, corporate and government guidelines. This will include your involvement in promoting and maintaining a culture of safety, leading production management practices, personnel management, setting performance standards, establishing budgets, managing costs, hiring and training, employee relations, assisting with the management of capital projects , and implementation of maintenance, production programs and customer service excellence.
15% Production safety; create a culture for safety at the site – with emphasize on housekeeping and good maintenance practizes.
Lead employee and food/feed safety program standards and goals for the plant.
Develop safety plans.
Execute on activities to ensure EHS audit compliance.
Manage audit/inspection findings follow up actions.
Lead safety meetings.
New employee training.
Ensure plant housekeeping/appearance meet standards.
40% People Management;
Lead employees in plant areas as assigned.
Involved with hiring and training.
Ensure compliance with all programs and policies. Handle coaching and discipline issues.
Develop a highly engaged team.
20% Production quality
Ensure compliance with FSQR (Food safety, quality, regulatory) procedures.
Training of team members on quality requirements.
Oversees the quality performance metrics for the team.
20% Production efficiency
Responsbile for the production efficiency and costs in areas as assigned.
Oversee and meet the production efficiency metrics and standards.
Develops and maintains a production efficiency and reliability project improvement list.
Coaching and training of team members on improvement areas.
Assist on capital projects.
Work on projects involving other functions of the business or other plants as assigned.
This position offers the opportunity to progress up in operations leadership roles.
Must be willing to relocate 1-2 times within the regional geography.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degee or equivalent in experience
Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment or similar industry.
Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
Demonstated knowledge and experience with people management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated success in EHS compliance management (environmental health and safety)
Strong computer skills
Demonstrated maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
