Mountain Air Mechanical Controls Technician in Rifle, Colorado

Primary Function

To perform the installation of HVAC controls materials and equipment on jobs.

Requirements

  • Required Skills

  • Must be able to work under pressure, have strong communication skills, able to read a tape measure, desire to continue learning the HVAC trade, hand and power tool knowledge, able to read prints, able to read gauges and meters, knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, thorough understanding of wiring, thorough knowledge of HVAC controls and ACR piping.

  • Driver’s License Preferred and May Be Required, EPA Certification Required, Basic NATE Certification Required

  • Be able to sit for long periods, stand long periods, ability to lift 100 lbs, ability to climb ladders, crawl in tight spaces, ability to work outdoors.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC Controls

  • Run Jobs from Start to Finish

  • Complete Job Site Coordination

  • Pre-Plan Jobs

  • Pre-Wire and Pull ACR Piping

  • Tie in Wiring and ACR Piping

  • Perform Start-ups

  • Coordinate with General Contractor or Owner

  • Perform Homeowner Walk-thru/Owner Orientation

  • High Level of Quality in Workmanship

  • Delegate Tasks to Other Controls Mechanics to Their Ability

  • Balance Multiple Jobs

  • Complete Troubleshooting Skills on Scope of Work Provided by Mountain Air Mechanical

  • Train all Positions Below

  • Make Decisions Using own Judgment

  • Order Materials as Needed with Manager’s Approval

  • Ensure a Safe Working Environment

  • Desire to Continually Learn to Keep up to Date with Technology

  • Assist Other Departments as Needed
