JOB TITLE: Maintenance WorkerDUTIES1. General knowledge in more than one function of facilities, includingbasic plumbing, basic electrical, basic HVAC, and basic carpentry orconstruction.2. Performs minor repairs on various mechanical equipment.3. Performs various semi-skilled and skilled maintenance and repair work usinga variety of hand and power tools; is responsible for cleaning andmaintaining equipment/tools.4. Performs routine maintenance and repair work to interior/exterior of allfacilities including but not limited to: replacing light bulbs, hangingpictures/bulletin boards, painting, plumbing, preventive maintenanceon equipment, and other routine maintenance.5. Performs lawn maintenance and snow removal as necessary. Methods includemanual and machinery.6. Keeps records on work performed and time allocated.7. Operates light equipment including but not limited to: pick-up trucks,tractors, snow-removal equipment and lawn maintenance equipment.8. Communicates current and anticipated problems to supervisor.9. Uses computer for entering and maintaining work orders and e-mailcommunications.10. Regular and predictable attendance is required.SKILLS REQUIRED:1. Possess a working knowledge of the standard practices, procedures,materials and equipment used in facilities maintenance.2. Possess a working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions necessaryfor the position.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:1. A High School graduate or equivalent.2. A minimum of two (2) years experience in facilities maintenance, orbasic plumbing/electrical/HVAC or other maintenance trade.3. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License andsatisfactory driving record.4. This position requires the employee to be part of an on-call rotationschedule. An on-call employee is required to remain near a telephone, cellphone or pager and to respond to a call or page as soon as reasonablypracticable. The on-call employee is free to pursue personal pursuits whileon-call, but is expected to be reasonably available and within a reasonabledistance of their work site during the entire on-call period for the purposeof responding to an emergency.5.
