DescriptionTheConstruction Crew Leadassists the Crew Foreman in constructing qualitybuilding projects that are profitable and provide a positive constructionexperience for the customer. This position helps create a construction teamthat promotes a positive attitude, develops an atmosphere for setting andmeeting goals and strives to achieve company objectives.ResponsibilitiesKeep current with and apply the Morton Buildings' safety and constructionprocedures, methods, and standards to every buildingRead,understand and build according to construction plansThe Leadefficiently executes tasks needed to complete a quality buildingincluding but not limited to: digging andinstalling footings, framingwalls and roof structures, installing windows, entry and other doors anddoor openings, installing various siding and roofing materials includinghi-rib steel, shingles, wood and other siding materials and mortarlessmasonry units, finishing with metal and wood trimsProvide the construction expertise, organizational andcommunication skillsnecessary to complete quality building projects profitablyThe Lead, in additionto the Crew Foreman, provides leadership for the crewin all aspects of the building construction processAssist in the technical training and re-training of crew members, includingnew hires, to ensure they are fully trained and follow all safetyandconstruction proceduresAssist in establishing healthy workplace environments that are safe,organized, productive and enjoyableHelp promote an atmosphere of dignity and respect among fellow employees,customers, suppliers, and sub-contractorsHelp create a positive team that enthusiastically works to achieve theobjectives of the crew, the local construction center and theentire company.The Leadassists in ensuring a positive construction experience for thecustomerQualificationsMinimum of 3 years' experience in building construction is requiredCarpentry, framing, post-frame construction, or equivalent experience ispreferredApplicant must hold a Class A CDL license or be able to obtain one within 6months of being hiredDesire to obtain OSHA 10-hour, Equipment Operation and Competent PersonCertifications once hiredDemonstrated ability to take initiative and provide leadershipParticipate in and lead our formal training programsAbility to measure human productivity and improve effectivenessEmbrace accountability and ownershipDemonstrated organizational and planning skillsAvailable to work a flexible schedule (6am to 6pm) that will includeSaturdays during peak construction periodsAbility to take directionProduce quality work in an efficient mannerAgree to comply with all of our safety processes and proceduresWillingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe and propermannerAbility to operate specialized safety equipment efficiently and effectivelyStandard weight lifting requirements - 50 pounds, with occasional lifting upto 100 poundsCapable of working in a physically demanding environment and at variousheights (up to 40 feet)Possess good communication skills - both written and verbalPossession of a valid Driver's License is requiredHigh School diploma or GED equivalent is preferredThis position requires 90% travel, which includes overnight travelpossibly up to two weeks at a time.Benefits include:Excellent medical/dental/prescription coverage
