General Purpose

Responsible for the overall maintenance of the Chilson or Winona pool areas. Must be available to work some evenings, weekends and holiday hours. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Work hours: Sundays 7:00 AM-11:00 AM and some other varied times.

Our Position


  • Enhance Recreation Department image and ensure a quality visit to the Chilson Center or Winona pool by performing routine maintenance chores to keep the aquatics areas presentable, clean and safe.

  • Perform basic maintenance of pool area mechanical systems as necessary. Inform management of any unsafe conditions.

  • Resolve team or patron concerns through positive interaction, collaboration and the application of appropriate policies and procedures.


  • May be required to cross train into other areas for duties as assigned.

Our Candidate

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Must possess proven excellent customer service skills, ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with guests, co-workers and facility management team. Must demonstrate skills of good judgment and decision-making in handling difficult situations involving facility guests. Demonstrated basic knowledge & ability related to electrical, mechanical & pool maintenance. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Education and/or experience:

Must have six (6) months experience in mechanical/maintenance work, swimming pool maintenance or a closely related field required.

Licensure and/or certifications:

Current CPR & First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date required.

Working Environment and Required Background Checks

Must be available to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends and holiday hours. Requires bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, lifting up to seventy (70) pounds, kneeling, and climbing to perform essential job functions. May be exposed to noxious fumes from cleaning supplies. Manual dexterity is required to complete work tasks through safe and proper operation of hand and power tools.

Material and equipment directly used:

Cleaning tools, pool vacuum, power washer, hand and power tools, buffer, cleaning supplies, telephone, automated swimming pool chemical monitoring equipment.
