Graphic Packaging International RandD Maintenance Technician in Louisville, Colorado

Tracking Code9725-159Job DescriptionWith minimal supervision, the Research and Development MaintenanceTechnician (RDMT) is responsible for the daily maintenance and function ofthe mechanical aspects of the Global RandD center. The RDMT will also assistin the design, fabrication, conversion, and installation of machines andprocesses directly related to the launch of new business objectives, newmanufacturing processes, and qualification of new raw materials.1) Assists the RandD Manager, Facilities and Pilot Manufacturing with thedaily maintenance and building function Global RandD center. Buildingfunctions include: Building Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems Facility air compressors Equipment chill water system Strong Electrical Skills - Basic Electrical / PLC / Drives / High Voltage2) Assists with maintenance and up-keep of RandD pilot line convertingequipment. Equipment includes: Flexographic printing press Web-fed die cutters/slitters Sheet-fed die cutting and creasing Hydraulic presses Folding carton gluing equipment Maintains adequate records of work performed on equipment and correctiveactions taken.3) Assists with design, fabrication, conversion, operation, andtraining others on the safe installation and use of package convertingequipment in support of launching new business initiatives for the Company.4) Assists with mechanical process and improvement related projects andprograms in support of Global RandD.5) Potential for working independently and traveling to GPI manufacturinglocations to install and/or troubleshoot package manufacturing machinery.6) Maintains function and reliability of building systems, manufacturingequipment and support equipment by performing preventative maintenance; byoperating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing,rebuilding or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.Required SkillsQualified candidate will have at a minimum a High School diploma or equivalent(GED), with 3 - 5 years of experience operating, fabricating, andmaintaining manufacturing equipment used in the packaging converting industry(printing presses, laminators, die-cutters/sheeters,folder/gluers, metallizers). Candidate must be comfortable working withand around customers. It is preferable that the qualified candidate havemachine shop/machining experience working with typical machine tools such asmills, lathes, welding equipment, etc. Experience in equipment andfacilities maintenance with knowledge of electrical/electronicstroubleshooting, mechanical repair and building repair. Basic computerskills, data entry. Knowledge of basic industrial electricity high and lowvoltAbility to lift up to 40-50 lbs. Ability to work safely and effectivelyon/around large manufacturing equipment.
