Sierra Nevada Corporation Quality Control Inspector III - CMM Operator (2nd Shift CONT in Louisville, Colorado

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector with a high school diploma or GEDequivalent and at least 6 years of relevant experience. What to look forward to: As a QualityAssurance Inspector, you will be using your skills and expertise to ensurethat our incoming parts, in-process production, and shipped productfulfill all quality requirements. You'll be responsible to visually inspectour materials, parts, and products at different stages of production forstructural flaws, internal defects, or missing welds and accept,reject, or request rework of defective or malfunctioning units or systems.You'll develop, apply, revise and maintain our quality standards forreceiving, in-process and final inspection.At SNC's Space Systems Group (SSG) we are not only the creator of theDream Chaser spacecraft, but also the designer and manufacturer of rocketengines and components, systems that sustain life in deep space, as wellas systems and satellites that improve life here on Earth. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.Receiving and Production Dimensional Inspection / CMM Operator performsinspection duties to insure that incoming parts, in-process production andshipped product fulfill all SNC quality requirements.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Inspect and file/record incoming part history records.Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of rawmaterials, components, and sub-assemblies per Inspection Plans, drawingsand other specification requirements.Read and interpret specifications and part prints.Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5MAny Laser Tracking / Faro Arm operation a bonus but not required.Initiate nonconformance reports (NCs) as requiredEnsure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment is up to date priorto conducting inspection operations.Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions.Communicate with project engineers to ensure compliance with the final productrequirements.Document information on the computer in various databases and other internalprogramsParticipates in in-process and final inspection as needed.Trains collateral duty InspectorsFollow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality,safety, and work rules and regulations.As needed, assist Quality Engineers with conduct of First Article,in-process, and final inspectionsTrain contract / temporary employees in the inspection procedures.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:High School Diploma or equivalent6+ years' experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment.Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Experience with MS Suite (Excel and Word).Minimum Fundamental Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as stated in SNC'sResponsibility Matrix.IMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S.citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual asdefined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the requiredauthorizations from the U.S. Department of State.At Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technologyand best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
