Sierra Nevada Corporation Quality Assurance Inspector III - 2nd Shift (CONTRACT) in Louisville, Colorado

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector with a high school diploma or GEDequivalent and at least 5 years of relevant experience. What to look forward to: As a QualityAssurance Inspector, you will be using your skills and expertise to ensurethat our incoming parts, in-process production, and shipped productfulfill all quality requirements. You'll be responsible to visually inspectour materials, parts, and products at different stages of production forstructural flaws, internal defects, or missing welds and accept,reject, or request rework of defective or malfunctioning units or systems.You'll develop, apply, revise and maintain our quality standards forreceiving, in-process and final inspection.At SNC's Space Systems Group (SSG) we are not only the creator of theDream Chaser spacecraft, but also the designer and manufacturer of rocketengines and components, systems that sustain life in deep space, as wellas systems and satellites that improve life here on Earth. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Production InspectionPerform precision laser alignment and laser tracking model functions.Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions.Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of componentsand sub-assemblies per Inspection Plans, drawings and other specificationrequirements.Read and interpret specifications and part prints.Initiate nonconformance reports (NCs) as requiredEnsure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment is up to date priorto conducting inspection operations.Communicate with project engineers to ensure compliance with the final productrequirements.Document information on the computer in various databases and other internalprogramsTrains collateral duty InspectorsAs needed, assist Quality Engineers with conduct of First Article,in-process, and final inspectionsPerform other miscellaneous duties as assignedFollow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality,safety, and work rules and regulations.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementThis position may be considered a safety-sensitive position depending onbusiness area requirements.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:High School Diploma or equivalent10+ year's of experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment.10+ year's of experience in aviation or spacecraft preferredFamiliar with various metrology equipment and lab setup techniques. (FAROVantage CMM, Creaform C-Track/Metrascan 750, and FARO Quantum Arm)Previous mechanical inspection background with ability to use basic handmeasurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.)Minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical inspection and inspectiontechniques.Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Experience with MS Excel and Word.Proficient with geometry and trigonometry (machine shop math).Fluent Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M and drawinginterpretationMinimum Fundamental Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as stated in SNC'sResponsibility Matrix.IMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S.citize
