Are you looking for a growth opportunity where you can contribute to a very important mission? Come and be part of our team in the dynamic world of Lockheed Martin Space. We are seeking a Composite Technician to work at our Littleton, CO site.
Working from engineering drawings, written work instructions and process specifications, this role will assemble structural and precision mechanical components in a shop environment. Tasks will include but are not limited to:
-Installation and torqueing of fasteners, drilling, installation of rivets, adhesive bonding, measurement and shimming interfaces to close tolerances
-Aerospace paint, aerospace primer and other aerospace coating application using spray, brush, swab techniques.
-Surface prep, using grit blast, hand abrade and power abrasion techniques
-Prepreg and wet layup fabrication techniques, including vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing.
-Tooling fabrication from various materials such as aluminum, composites, and wood.
-Working with small shop power tools (saws, routers, sanders, and grinders).
-Machine shop equipment operation (mill, lathe, table saw, band saw, etc.)
-Assembly of composite structures including setup, bonding, and fastener applications.
-Operation of measuring devices such as calipers, height gages, micrometers, and torque wrenches.
-Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools and power tools.
-Strong understanding of composites fabrication.
-Aircraft & Powerplant license or similar professional certifications.
-Experience in aircraft/aerospace assembly and
process equipment (oven) programming/operation.
-Composite material and Process
-Experience Operating NC mills, routers and manually operating lathes, grinders, saws, and other various shop tools.
-Past experience working in an aerospace environment.
