Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Transportation Supervisor oversees the safe and efficient operations of domicile location and small crew. Responsible for all aspects of cross-dock operations and transportation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and direct all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage personnel assigned, including:

  • Recruit and retain staff;

  • Manage performance including; reviews, discipline, training, attendance etc

  • Foster a collaborative work environment to maximize employee morale and productivity

  • Ensure staffing meets Company objectives and requirements along with customer expectations

  • Assist Distribution Center with activities related to dispatching, routing, and scheduling

  • Enforce company safety guidelines, food safety policies and DOT requirements are adhered to

  • Assist in coordinating repairs and maintenance to company vehicles/equipment

    • Assist drivers out on route with troubleshooting, breakdowns, customer issues etc
  • Coordinate and monitor basic warehousing duties to ensure accurate handling of cross-dock products

  • Conduct accident investigations in cooperation law enforcement agencies

  • Conduct deliveries to customers while meeting delivery windows and operating in a safe manner

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • College Degree preferred or equivalent related experience, 4-5 years

  • Valid Class-A Driver's License

  • Current Microsoft Office Applications, Routing Software, Time-card System
