A top U.S. porkproducer/processor and leading exporter to 30+ countries, we arecommitted to the pursuit of pork perfection, seeking a better way to producewholesome pork and connect every step between our farms and family tables.Together, more than 5,000 employees in five states work in our farms,feed mills, and processing plant, to produce Prairie Fresh pork,ensuring the well-being of our animals, the environment, our employees andthe communities we call home.JOB PURPOSEManages the feed manufacturing and feed delivery operations for acompany-owned feed mill producing 10,000 tons of bulk feed weekly.Responsible for implementing standard operating procedures and must beexcellent at training and developing operational staff. Leads and supervisesthe operation of all aspects of the mill, which includes scale house,receiving, control room, dispatch, inventory, clerical, feedordering, and delivery.The Feed Mill Supervisor reports directly to the Feed Mill Manager and hasapproximately 11 direct reports. Primarily works night shift operations butmay be asked to cover other shifts as necessary.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide direction to employees and assign work/batch details and follow upto ensure work is completed and orders filled in a timely manner. Look formeans to enhance efficiencies and quality.Manage the daily operations of one shift of the feed mill and providetechnical knowledge for processes and equipment, utilizing operationalpersonnel to obtain maximum throughput and performance with optimum yields andquality.Control all daily usage of grain, vitamins, minerals and otheringredients, track inventory and investigate and correct any discrepancies.Proactively lead and support operational excellence with staff and continuallytrain and develop employees.Understand the flow of all materials, incoming and outgoing, and thestandard operatingprocedures for all areas of the feed mill.Recommend measures to improve mill and transportation methods, equipmentperformance and quality of service and implement any necessary millimprovement projects.Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules andsound practices.
