Nelnet Centennial Facilities Specialist in Highlands Ranch, Colorado

Overview

Perform duties to ensure Nelnet owned and leased facilities are properly maintained and equipped to provide a workplace that is healthy, safe, pleasing and promotes efficiency.

Reports to Facilities Supervisor.

This position requires work in support of the Company’s contract with the United States Department of Education (“ED”). As such, the United States Government requires that any applicant for this position must complete United States Government security clearance. Effective June 1, 2018, ED has informed Nelnet that security clearance applications for foreign nationals are not being accepted or processed. In light of this direction from ED, Nelnet will be unable to hire applicants without United States citizenship for such positions.

Responsibilities

Fulfill work orders within company standards for quality and timeliness, to include but not be limited to:

  • Move equipment and furniture

  • Hang and install miscellaneous items and fixtures

  • Directly or through respective vendors, maintain and repair owned and leased equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and furniture

  • Install, move, and/or reconfigure panel system furniture

  • Coordinate services to be performed by property management or landlord

  • Replace/restock paper and/or toner as needed

  • Maintain database to log work orders to track progress and ensure service levels achieved

  • Stock break rooms as needed.

  • Assist in facilities preparation for company functions and social events.

  • Maintain organized storage facility.

  • Complete miscellaneous projects as assigned.

  • Assist employees in relocating

  • Willingness to learn security software & use daily as tasks come up

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

1 year experience in maintenance/general repairs.

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

Demonstrated customer service skills and organization skills. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks. Ability to follow through on assignments within corporate standards. Ability to work independently. Attention to detail and accuracy. Effective oral and written communications skills. Basic problem solving ability. Basic carpentry skills. Computer skills to include PC proficiency (Windows environment), MS Office Suite.

Physical Activities/Working Conditions:

Minimal travel. Must be able to work overtime at any time. Must be capable of lifting 75 lbs. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and have own transportation.

Training: Successful completion of OJT & Prowatch
