Estimator - Door, Frame, & Hardware

Position Summary

Responsible for estimating/purchasing Door, Frame, Hardware packages for Commercial Construction projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review the contract documents and work with the salesperson to form strategies on what to bid and how to bid it.

  • Manage risk by finding discrepancies and sending out the proper request for information to obtain the correct answers.

  • Prepare detailed take-off and estimates using takeoff spreadsheet and ISEC estimating software, including material, freight, engineering, and installation costs.

  • In addition to pricing DFH in house, obtain pricing from out-source vendors when applicable.

  • Send out for manufacturer’s quotes in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate and price buyouts included with DFH items.

Education/Experience

  • 2+ years experience in the Door, Frame, and Hardware Industry

Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Ability to read blue prints and specifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong computer skills

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • At least 2+ years experience in the Door, Frame, and Hardware Industry

Knowledge/Skills

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Good computer skills

  • Well organized and detail-orientated

  • Team player
