Position Summary:
The Tower Technician-is primarily responsible for telecommunications site and tower construction required to upgrade wireless networks. Climbs and works on communications towers to install, replace, and repair antenna systems equipment. This position will conduct and perform construction duties to complete each project to specification, and complete each project in a timely manner, with exceptional quality and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position are as follows:

Climb and work on communications towers to install, replace and repair antenna systems equipment.
With minimal supervision, complete each project in a timely manner, with exceptional quality and within budget.
Assist in scheduling and managing rental equipment to include calling off equipment.
Prepare for project installations by determining required installation methods, and assembling the proper tools and equipment in order to complete the project to specifications.
With minimal supervision, rig towers, monopoles, and rooftops for construction purposes.
Additional responsibilities as identified and assigned.
Competencies, Education, and Experience:
Ability to follow detailed directions
Can deal with constructive criticism and is willing to learn
Can deal with problems that arise with crew and project
Can operate sweep gear test equipment and troubleshoot, download, and label
Can read and understand construction drawings to include electrical one-line
Can take instruction from Foreman and implement directions as needed
Aware of all hazards pertaining to wireless construction
Has knowledge of all tasks involved with a project
Ability to work independently as well as on small teams
High School diploma or GED
Aerial lift certification preferred
CPR and First Aid
OSHA 10 Hour
Tower rescue training/certification.
Connector training
PIM testing
Sweep testing
Travel:
This position is generally expected to require overnight travel at 50-75%. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The standard work environment for this position is an outdoors construction or service environment with the ability to work in adverse weather conditions (extreme heat or cold) and may be conducted during daylight and nighttime hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must put on and use personal protective, fall prevention, and fall arrest equipment and will frequently sit talk or hear, and will occasionally stoop, kneel, and reach with or use hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. This position requires climbs of up to 100 to 400 feet. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
