TransportationPURPOSE:Are you seeking more than a paycheck on your next adventure?As a Streets Maintenance Worker, you will perform manual labor in themaintenance of county roads. Maintenance duties vary by district and mayinclude shoveling, raking, and sweeping asphalt, traffic control dutiessuch as flagging and sign placement, culvert maintenance, and snow plowing.About Jefferson County Road and Bridge:Road and Bridge is dedicated to providing residents with a convenient,accessible and safe transportation system. Road and Bridge maintains over2,900 lane miles of paved and 700 lane miles of gravel roadways inunincorporated Jefferson County. (One lane-mile is a 10-foot wide section ofa road one mile long).MissionIn the most cost-effective manner, Road and Bridge performs necessarymaintenance and improvements to the County's infrastructure assuring thebest possible conditions for the optimum safety and accessibility of thegeneral public, while preserving our environment.VisionCommitted to serving the residents and visitors of Unincorporated JeffersonCounty by maintaining the public infrastructure in the most sustainable mannerwhile ensuring a reliable and safe transportation system for the travelingpublic.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Essential Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, thefollowing:Working with the paving or patch crewFlaggingShoveling and raking, to include asphaltUtilizing hand toolsOperation of light and heavy equipment and vehiclesAssist in the installation and placement of traffic control devises, andstreet signs.Ensure readiness of equipment.General maintenance work of roads, rights-of-way, and culvertsMust be available to respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24hours a day seven days a week by reporting to assigned shop within one hour ofbeing called.May perform other general maintenance duties, as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent certificate (GED)Valid Colorado Driver's License for 2 consecutive years prior to date of hireADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Please read the following to the fullest extent.Offer of employment is contingent on passing a criminal history, MVRcheck, and physical exam.To be considered, you must not have any major violations, nor DUI,DWI, DWAI in the past three years.Must provide a valid Driver's License and current copy of your full MotorVehicle Record at the time of interview.Must be 18 years or older by date of hireMay be required to possess a valid Class B commercial Driver's license withTanker endorsements and the Air Brake restriction removed as well as a validDepartment of Transportation (DOT) medical Card within 6 months of hire.****Salary is Based on Qualifications****
