Waters Production Manager in Golden, Colorado
Waters Corporation in Golden, CO is currently looking for a Production Manager to join our company. In this role, the Production Manager is responsible for developing the design, formulation, validation and throughput of the product line. We are looking for an energetic leader that is interested in a fast pace environment who has experience with compliance, quality and accreditation guidelines. Process Water Consumable products are highly time and quality sensitive Total Organic Carbon, Conductivity and Turbidity Certified Reference Materials used in pharmaceutical, USP and industrial water facilities. Adherence to quality standards is required by government regulatory and accreditation bodies. The Production Manager ensures the product is fit for use to effectively perform for customers across all instrument platforms.
Technical Product Leadership & Cross Functional Collaboration (65% of time)
Technical product & instrumentation subject matter expert for Total Organic Carbon (TOC), conductivity and turbidity instrument analysis in pharmaceutical and industrial process water.
Collaborate with Sr. Technical Mgr, Manufacturing Mgr, Quality to develop solutions that are justified and focused on improving the production efficiently and scientifically.
Responsible for evaluating new product/product change costs, resource requirements, and technical capabilities stemming from Sales & Marketing MRD (Marketing Requirements Document) development process for PWC products. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing & Quality to create timelines to deliver new product launches on-time.
Validates production processes by establishing product specifications and creating validation plans; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
Scientific data review and evaluation of quality for the internal batch production processes and for customer trouble shooting. Advise staff on data evaluation tools, instrument maintenance and qualification processes needed to meet quality objectives.
Decision making and risk evaluation of current processes. Focus on improvement and technical modifications while collaborating to meet regulatory and accreditation guidelines.
Collaborate with Quality Team on development of CAPA projects as needed for PWC product line. Responsible for documentation and implementation of Corrective and Preventative action plans to address quality issues.
Collaborate with Leadership Team on strategic planning for business growth.
Staff Training & Development (35% of time)
Lead and mentor PWC team staff on continuous improvement of laboratory and analytical techniques to increase production quality and efficiency.
Lead team on new product implementation and process improvement creation.
Lead team by developing and driving validation plans, protocols and product evaluations.
Preparation for audits including staff training, procedure revisions and documentation requirements.
Guide and train staff on conducting customer communication during technical support calls regarding product use, instrumentation and data interpretation. Train and educate staff to improve ability to interface directly on customer complaints.
Develop and mentor staff to initiate process improvement projects, drive efficiency gains, quality and safety.
Work with PWC staff as needed to lead change to product structure in preparation of business growth.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
This position requires the physical ability to move quickly around a laboratory environment. Use of Personal Protective Equipment; medium lifting 30 lbs, manual dexterity, stand and or sit for long periods of time.
This position requires domestic and international travel that may include overnights, weekend and/or occasional travel on holidays. Expected travel percentage less than 10% though may be higher at times.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in scientific field, engineering or business management
Minimum 5-7 years of management experience in the fields of technical production, instrumentation or similar process management
TOC instrumentation experience and knowledge preferred
Proven track record of successfully implementing change and problem solving
Continuous improvement environment experience
Demonstration of ability to work cross functionally across an organization
Communication skills developed with capability to work training employees one-on-one or a group
Proficient in MS Word, Excel & Power Point
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
