Bridge is looking for Equipment Operators for our shop in PineColorado.As an Equipment Operator, you will operate equipment/vehicles and performmanual labor in the maintenance of county roads. Duties vary by district andmay include operation of equipment in the preparation of final asphaltoverlay, hauling materials, and assisting in graveling roads,shoveling, raking, and sweeping asphalt, traffic control, and snowplowing. You must be available to respond to emergencies and snow removaloperations 24 hours a day seven days a week by reporting to assigned shopwithin one hour of being called.About Jefferson County Road and Bridge:Road and Bridge is dedicated to providing residents with a convenient,accessible and safe transportation system. (One lane-mile is a 10-foot wide section ofa road one mile long).MissionIn the most cost-effective manner, Road and Bridge performs necessarymaintenance and improvements to the County's infrastructure assuring thebest possible conditions for the optimum safety and accessibility of thegeneral public, while preserving our environment.VisionCommitted to serving the residents and visitors of Unincorporated JeffersonCounty by maintaining the public infrastructure in the most sustainable mannerwhile ensuring a reliable and safe transportation system for the travelingpublic.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Essential Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, thefollowing:Operate equipment and/or vehicles used in the construction, maintenance,snow plowing and repair of roadsOperate equipment including skid-steers, kick brooms, street sweepers,rollers, paver screeds, dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, and crack seal machinesPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipmentPerform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of vehicles and equipmentSnow plowing of assigned routeAssist with paving, patching, and graveling roadsMust be available to respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24hours a day seven days a week by reporting to assigned shop within one hour ofbeing called.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent certificate (GED)Minimum of one year work related experience in the operation of equipmentand/or vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or moreValid Driver's License for a minimum of two consecutive years immediatelypreceding employmentValid Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker endorsementand Air Brake restriction removedPreferred Qualifications:Experience with road construction or maintenanceExperience with asphalt operationsADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Please read the following to the fullest extent.Offer of employment is contingent on passing a criminal history, MVRcheck, drug screen and physical exam.To be considered, you must not have any major violations, nor DUI,DWI, DWAI in the past three years.Must provide a valid Commercial Driver's License, DOT medical card, andcurrent copy of your full CDLIS Motor Vehicle Record at the time of interviewMust obtain a Tanker Endorsement within 30 days of hireJefferson County adheres to pre- and post-employment drug testing regulationsfor positions requiring a CDL.
