Undergeneral supervision, this electrician position performs skilled work in theinstallation, maintenance and repair of County Sheriff's Departmentbuilding and detention facilities, with particular emphasis on electronicand electro-mechanical security monitoring systems.Shocking personality and-well wired interpersonal skills a bonus.Make a difference in your community and apply today!The Building MaintenanceElectronics Technician is responsible for performing skilled work in themaintenance and repair of Sheriff's Department building and detentionfacility, with particular emphasis on electrical systems installation andrepair. Evaluate electrical equipment and appliances throughout the building.Repair or replace as necessary. Order electric materials. Design electricalupgrades. Supervise equipment installation. Performs welding and plumbingmaintenance repair. Employee is subject to the usual hazards of contact withjail inmates and detainees. Oversee electronic systems of the complex by designing and implementing allcomponents of the electronic security system, the CCTV matrix switching anddigital recording system, the fire alarm system, Andover System, and theinterior communications, PLC and Touchscreens and Cable TV systems. Performpreventative maintenance on all aforementioned systems. Program and monitorall actions of the systems. Assumes primary responsibility for troubleshootingand solving electronic system problems, to include designing and supervisingthe installation of new wiring, performing maintenance check-ups onboilers, air conditioning and HVAC units, and installing and maintainingelectrical devices. Also repairs laundry machines, kitchen equipment, carwash equipment and the detention facility electrical doors. Estimates andorders electrical materials for repair and new projects. Evaluates projectoutcomes, ensuring adherence to established policies, standards and codes.Compiles data and prepares preventive maintenance reports and special reports.Evaluate electrical equipment and appliances throughout the building andrepair or replace as necessary. Order materials. Design electrical upgrades.Supervise equipment installation.Maintain fire protection system, including control panels, smokedetectors, sprinklers, audio/visual, and door holders. Follow NationalElectrical Code and National Fire Protection Association codes.Provide emergency, on call response to situations involving floods,odors, lighting, HVAC, fire protection and security. Assess theemergency and respond accordingly. Call appropriate personnel if necessary.Complete other required duties by assisting other trades and maintenancetechnicians. Complete assigned work orders.Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, ortechnical nature that may be obtained with specialized or technical trainingpast the high school equivalency and three years of related experience ingeneral electronics systems service and installation work; or any equivalentcombination of training and experience which provides the requiredknowledge, skills and abilities.Preferred expertise in the following areas: - Security/Detention Systems - Video Surveillance - Fire Alarm Systems - PLC ProgrammingMust take and take oral interview, polygraph and provide information forbackground investigation. Must also pass a medical, drug screen andpsychological test.Work Experience:Minimum three yearsJourneyman License - Colorado, Master Electrician License - Colorado
