The Service Department Foreman is essential to the success of our servicedepartment. As a Foreman with Transwest you will be responsible fordispatching orders to the appropriate technicians, making sure the work getsdone efficiently and opening and closing out tickets. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Directly supervise technicians.Assist Service Manager in training personnel.Carry out established policies and procedures.Perform quality assurance activities as directed through quality assuranceinspections, random quality checks and training technicians in qualityassurance.Assist Service Manager in resolving customer complaints and general customerrelations.Assist Technicians with mechanical diagnosis and performance.Schedule, assign, and supervise work with the objective of maximizing thebalance of quality, productivity, and profit.Supervise maintenance of tools and shop equipment.Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.WORK ENVIRONMENT andPHYSICAL ABILITIES:Required to perform work inside and outside, in all-weather situations, atthe shop division location.Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping forprolonged periods of time.Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands andarms and lift up to 80 lbs.Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.Normal range of hearing and vision.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:High School Diploma or equivalent.Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days ofemployment.Experience working in a heavy-duty truck dealership or independent shopenvironment is a requirement.Journeyman Mechanic or Lead experience is a plus.Knowledge of how a service shop operates is imperative.Strong customer service skills, organizational skills and leadershipabilities are essential.Excellent verbal and communication skillsCandidate must be a motivated individual who can work independently.Detail orientedAbility to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass apost-offer background check, physical and drug screening.Date Posted: 11-19-2020All qualified applications will receive consideration for employment withoutregard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genderidentity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Transwest is an equal opportunity employer.
