Dairy Farmers Of America Waste Water Technician in Fort Morgan, Colorado

General Purpose: Under the general direction of the Waste Water Supervisor, ensure thatwaste water treatment facility is operating effectively and efficiently.Assist with everyday maintenance issues and repairs in the Waste Treatmentfacility. Promote best practices and a discipline to standard work. Workclosely and in partnership with quality, operations, maintenance, humanresources, and the leadership team to build one team with one purpose -- toprovide safe effluent that meets the City/State waste water permit limits.Must gain proficiency in an activated sludge treatment process, includingnitrification processes in industrial waste water setting. Must also have orbe able to gain extensive working knowledge of waste water equipment andtrouble shooting and problem solving skills. This person needs to fosterteamwork consistent with our Vision, Mission and Core Values as well asmaintain a positive work culture. Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Willingness to flex schedules to respond to emergencies and breakdownsat the waste treatment facility * Maintain chemical levels and adjustments * Read gauges and meters and accurately record findings * Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork such as records, logs,orders, surveys, and routine reports as directed * Perform standardized water process control, monitoring, andcompliance sampling and testing including Ammonia, COD, BOD, TotalSuspended Solids, Total Phosphorus, Total Residual Chlorine,Temperature, and Total Dissolved Solids - Collect wastewater samples for analysis by state lab - Maintain daily narrative logs and record plant operating data asrequired in logs and operations software - Provide effective, timely, and respectful communication andinteractions with other employees, supervisors, and suppliers * Foster teamwork consistent with our company and plant Mission,Vision, and Core Values * Adhere to all safety policies and procedures * Follow all DFA GMP's and works in a manner consistent with allcorporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements * Communicate with processing plant regularly to ensure proper approachto water treatment of the effluent - Perform other related functions assigned by management or as theybecome apparent - The requirements herein are intended to describe the general natureand level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list ofresponsibilities, duties and skills required. Education and Experience * High School Diploma/GED * General computer skills; SAP experience preferred * Technical/Military/College preferred * Water/Wastewater System Operator (Class D) preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and SCADA systems) * Able to perform accurate mathematical calculations related to thisposition * Able to operate and maintain handheld analytical instruments includingDO, pH, temperature, and ammonia * Working knowledge using mechanical skills for making minor repairs toprocess equipment, piping, and motors, etc. * Hands-on experience in light duty electrical power systems (240 V/single and three phase) and instrumentation calibration and use * Able to perform electrical work (change pump motors, diagnosemotor control problems, etc.) * Knowledge of pneumatics, solenoid valves, and air cylinders * Able to use standard maintenance tools in a safe manner * Able to perform minor projects from planning to installation(Typically, this includes non-sanitary piping, drain lines, vacuum lines) * Must have the ability to perform routine repairs in a safe and timelyfashion (rebuilding product/water pumps, VFD's, valves, piping leaks) * Must have the ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on avariety of equipment, identify any abnormal conditions, and maintainap
