Summit Bodyworks, a quality manufacturer of custom designed truck and vanbodies, dry freights, flatbed/platform, and other specialty vehicleapplications is looking for skilled individuals to join the team! TheMachine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up,operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance onassigned machines. This individual will be responsible for set up andoperation of production machines in accordance with established procedures andThis is a 2nd Shift position. Working hours will be M-F 3:00pm -11:00pm,after an initial 2-4 week training period on days.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares work to be accomplished by studying work order, bill ofmaterials, and engineering drawings as required.Operates tools to aid in the manufacturing process of fabricated miscellaneousmetal parts.Perform periodic checks on equipment and solve problems as detected.Maintain and monitors the machine to ensure it is functioning properly.Conducts in-process quality inspection of metal parts as they are made.Maintains a clean and safe work area.Operates a variety of equipment including CNC plasma cutting tables, PressBrake, Shears, Hurco machining center, and robotic welding cell.Participates in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestionsand exhibiting initiative in areas within direct control.WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ABILITIES:Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping forprolonged periods of time.Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands andarms and lift up to 75lbs.Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.Normal range of hearing and vision.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:High school diploma or equivalent.Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.Knowledge of hardwoods and wood products is a plus.Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a focus on exceptional customerservice.Candidates must be a motivated individual who can work independently.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and passpost-offer background check, physical and drug screening.Job DetailsType: HourlyCompensation Range: $22 to $28 PLUS a 10% Shift Differential.Bonus Eligibility: NoReports To: Production SupervisorClosing Date: Open until filled.Date posted: 002/09/21All qualified applications will receive consideration for employment withoutregard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genderidentity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Transwest is an equal opportunity employer.
