Our highly productive team of professionals is looking for an individual withinterest in learning the many facets of Government Fleet vehicle maintenanceand repair.In theis position you will experience the personal satisfaction of assistingour Law Enforcement, Road and Bridge department and other County Agenciescomplete their missions by providing safe, reliable vehicles and equipment.If you are a motivated individual looking for a career working on diversevehicles and equipment, come join our team and see what opportunities awaityou in this area of automotive repair!TheLight Duty Maintenance Technician performs semi-skilled and skilled work inthe mechanical repair, servicing, and maintenance of gasoline and dieseldriven equipment and vehicles across all of Larimer County.Essential job functions for this position include but are not limited to:Troubleshooting, repairing, and checking county vehicles and motorizedequipment.General overhaul, tune-up, and repair work on heavy or light dutyautomobiles and equipment.Repairing and overhauling hydraulic and air brakes, ignition systems,transmissions, differentials, and front and rear axle assemblies; repairand install hydraulic pumps and controls; inspect, repair, overhaul andassemble electrical equipment such as alternators, distributors,magnetos, starters, and computer equipment.Performing field or shop inspections of heavy or light duty equipment todetermine repair needs and estimate cost of repairs; making field repairswhen possible.Performing a wide range of preventative maintenance tasks on county equipment.Removing and replace carburetors, fuel injection components and fuelpumps, cooling system, emissions, and exhaust components; relininglight or heavy duty brakes.Acting as a resource or expert in program area providing technical guidance toless experienced staff.Use of a computer and assigned software to prepare work orders, recordingtime spent and parts used for vehicle maintenance and repair, and createrecords and reports related to Fleet maintenance activities.Basic welding principles (gas and arc).Knowledge of emissions and Controls systems.Qualifications:Three years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance ofsimilar duties and responsibilities.Requires a strong background in electrical and computerized systemtroubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair.High School diploma or GED required, supplemented by specialized mechanicaltraining.Possession of and ability to maintain a Colorado Class " B " CDL. at thediscretion of the Fleet Director , depending upon necessity and position.Possession of, or the ability to obtain within six months, at least twoAutomotive Institute of Excellence (ASE) certifications in Automotive orHeavy Truck.Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.Push and pull 100 pounds.Access trucks and heavy equipment by climbing.Sir ot stand up to 2 hours continuously.An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of apre-employment drug screen.
