Description of Work Unit

The Integrated Solid Waste Section (ISW) exists to provide a clean campus on which to study, work and live. We remove solid waste from campus according to the ISW plan which maximizes the reuse of campus waste through recycling and composting with landfilling as a last resort.

Position Summary

This position exists to efficiently and effectively collect, deliver and process compostable material.

Minimum Qualifications

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a current valid Colorado driver’s license. Ability to pass and maintain a Class B commercial driver’s license within six months of hire. Attachment of a current Motor Vehicle Record as a “Special Required Document” in the application is required.

Essential Job Duties

Job Duty Category Compostable Materials Collection

Duty/Responsibility

  • Collect compostable materials throughout the campus and deliver to compost site.

  • Assist with unloading side load truck, bagging compost, and washing compost bins. In performing this function, operate and perform operator maintenance and daily pre-trip safety inspections on an 11, 050 GVW Cube Van

  • Maintain compost site and compost bins as needed. Cleaning lids, around in-vessel composter and windrow piles. Making arrangements for the bins to be thoroughly washed due to odors and appearance.
