DISH Technician II - Hardware in Englewood, Colorado

  • Testing / Qualification of individual electronic components (caps, resistors, inductors, etc.) both out of circuit and in-circuit to qualify for use in consumer-grade electronics products.

  • Testing / Qualification of individual electronic assemblies (surge protectors, power strips, etc.)

  • Generating test reports based on data collected from testing.

  • Soldering electronic components from a kit on to a circuit board following a BOM and an assembly drawing.

  • Performing soldering rework / modifications as needed.

  • Updating software and running tests on existing equipment.

  • Troubleshooting electronic assemblies and diagnosing failures.

  • Replacing or repairing faulty components or subassemblies.

  • Employ an above basic understanding of spreadsheets and databases.

  • Employ an above basic understanding of electrical components, schematics and bills of material.

  • Follow standard operating procedures around tasks.

  • Use critical thinking to solve problems, interpret, and apply a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Work very effectively under general supervision.

  • Interpret and execute on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.

  • Report to work at a DISH facility on a regular, predictable and timely basis.

  • Meet all of DISH’s performance expectations, including but not limited to, satisfying all applicable metrics, productivity standards, goals, and proficiencies related to overall performance.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • The employee frequently is required to mobilize around the work area, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and be present continuously at workstation for up to three (3) consecutive hours.

  • The employee must have the ability to use a computer mouse, keyboard, and telephone, other equipment typically found in an office environment.

    Essential Sensory Functions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak to vendors and other employees and hear speech from vendors and other employees.

  • The employee will need to regularly interact and communicate with others, including but not limited to, face-to-face communications, over the phone communications, and email & chat messaging communications. The employee must be able to comprehend the subject of the communication and take appropriate action, if necessary.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, read and interpret, documents and instructions; frequent identification of letters, numbers, and symbols in a technology environment.




While performing the duties and essential functions of this job, the employee is exposed to computer equipment and noise levels of a typical office environment, with the requisite level of noise associated with 10 or more employees working in the same physical location.


  • Has a strong interest in testing individual electronic components (caps, resistors, memory IC’s, etc.).

  • Knowledge of all types of electronic components, their operation, specifications, and proper testing methods.

  • Working knowledge of basic AC / DC electronics, and basic digital / microprocessor electronics circuits.

    • 2 years experience in the operation of digital multi-meters, digital oscilloscopes, and other types of electronic test and measurement equipment.
    • 2 years experience reading and interpreting electronic circuit schematics.
    • 2 years experience in testing/qualifying electronic parts.
    • 2 years experience testing/troubleshooting to component level.
  • Ability to solder small surface mount components is required.

    • 2 years experience board assembly/ rework soldering.
  • Operate efficiently between multiple computer applications and be proficient with Windows10 or higher.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office and Google Suite, including but not limited to, Google Sheets and Google Docs.

  • Effectively interact with all levels of organizational staff and company personnel.

  • Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written/oral communication, and customer service skills.

Associates degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience.

Compensation: $33,300.00/Yr. - $49,575.00/Yr.
