Are you an experienced Diesel Mechanic? Then we want to talk to you!We are looking for a great Diesel Mechanic that can handle responsibility forall aspects of maintenance and repair of our medium and heavy-duty trucks inour moving truck fleet. (We have both older Freightliners and newerInternational trucks) This will also Include inspections and diagnostics.Repairs range from basic PM services to inframe, brakes, and transmissionjobs. Proficient with Fleet Management Software and Fuel ManagementSystems Computer skills operating windows-based programs Positive/Respectful attitude with strong inter-personal skills Have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, andweekends. Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments tocontinuously improve processes, maximize efficiency, and exceed expectations.Job Expectations: Commitment to Fischer Van Lines Moving and Storage safety policiesand procedures and ability to promote awareness. Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostictests, identifying worn and damaged parts. Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenanceschedules; installing component and part upgrades; controllingcorrosion; completing winterization procedures. Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting,overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing majorassemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, suchas, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel,emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shopoperations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads,gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, controllinkages, Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives,adjusting controls and systems. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testingengine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operatinginstructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies;performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and partsoptions. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders;verifying receipt. Updates job knowledge by participating in educationalopportunities; reading technical and regulation publications. Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation byaccepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploringopportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelinesand effectively prioritize and executes tasks in a high-pressure environment. Must possess great time management and organizational skills Professional with good communication skills. Demonstrate high level of attention to detail and professionalism
