DescriptionJob Summary Set up and run CNC machines to build fixtures per specifications usingstandard measuring tools.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:*Set up CNC machines utilizing set up sheets provided*Carryout production, inspection, and machine operation duties*Use various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage)*Operate basic shop equipment (band saw, grinders, etc.)*Builds fixtures for work holding as required*Deburr and clean parts as required*Modify programs and adjust offsets as required to meet product conformity*Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications forimproved efficiency*Replace cutting tools as required to meet production conformity*Set up and operate manual mill, lathe*Complete routine machine maintenance.*Train entry level CNC machinists*Effectively monitor and tend to one or more machine tools*Other Duties as assignedAdditional Job Requirements*Maintain a safe and clean work space*Follow established safety rules and regulations*Regular scheduled attendance*Indicate the percentage of time spent travelingSubject to applicable laws and Air Method's policies, regular attendanceis an essential function of the position. All employees must follow AirMethods' employment practices and policies.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below arerepresentative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Inaccordance with applicable laws, Air Methods will provide reasonableaccommodations that do not create an undue burden so disabled employees mayperform the essential functions of the position.Education and Experience*High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 5 years'experience working with CNC Machining and/or training; or equivalentcombination of education and experience.*Ability of producing parts utilizing manual mills and lathes*Ability to modify and create programs using Mastercam XVI*Able to interpret and edit CNC programs using Fanuc, Fadal, and Haascontrols.*Ability to read blue print and job traveler specifications to determine theproper tooling required to set up each operation.*Basic familiarity with the use of hand tools.*Knowledge of machining the following materials; Stainless Steel,Aluminum, and assorted plastics.Skills*General math skills*General mechanical skills.*Ability to read and interpret blue printsAir Methods is an EEO/AA employer.
