Senior Facilities Maintenance TechnicianDuties:General Purpose: To manage the Service Center Warehouse including inventorycontrol of all assignedmerchandise used in the support of City Departments; and to receive,account for, store and dispose of assignedmaterials. Purchase inventory and vehicle parts for the City's fleet at bestprice and delivery. Support other areasas needed; assists in coordination of City-wide banner program; perform avariety of technical tasks relative toassigned area of responsibility; and perform a variety of maintenance andrepair functions on City-ownedbuildings.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Provide assistance to mechanics and other departments by issuing parts andsupplies as requested; chargeappropriate accounts.2. Purchase vehicle parts for the City's fleet.3. Assist the general public in the purchase of water meters and trash bags;collect cash and issue receipts, balanceand reconcile cash drawer weekly.4. Purchase building maintenance supplies.5. Receive incoming shipments for all City departments; verify invoices withpurchase orders and approve forpayment; record all inventory items by quantity, receiving document andstorage location on computer;maintain computerized records of parts, equipment, merchandise, andcosts; compute unit prices; mark itemswith correct information.6. Maintain separate and distinct inventory records for 7 differentinventories; use computer terminal to input andretrieve data; verify inventory with cycle count worksheets.7. Determine origin and disposition of inventory and non-inventory items;maintain records of merchandiseusability, service, and preventive maintenance.8. Inspect and document goods for quantity, damage and conformity tospecification; report discrepancies.Other Duties:1. Assist in preparing reports on inventory items and warehouse activities.2. Perform routine housekeeping functions; maintain orderliness of thewarehouse3. Maintain warehouse in an orderly fashion by rotating stock, removingobsolete items, and cleaning area asneeded. Utilize forklifts and other lifting/moving equipment as necessary toachieve these tasks.4. Receive weekly department orders; select items from shelves; transportor deliver supplies; replenish stock.5. Purchase parts and supplies for mechanics and maintenance workers;research sources and obtain competitiveprices; determine appropriate delivery method.6. Operate fuel monitor device; maintain fuel inventory for fleetvehicles; prepare inventory; run reports.7. Review inventory stock levels; compare purchases to ensure the bestproduct at a competitive price.8. Perform annual physical inventory2 of 29. Operate construction and maintenance equipment and tools such as power handtools, airless spray painters,forklifts, dump trucks, skid loaders, front end loaders, and relatedequipment; safely operate bucket truck;maintain hand tools and assigned equipment; perform preventive maintenanceon equipment.10. Estimate time, materials, and equipment needed for jobs assigned.11. Perform minor plumbing work; unclog sinks, toilets, urinals;perform maintenance on drinking fountains.12. Assist with carpentry work; hang doors; install door closures andhardware repair or replace window framesand broken windows; repair damaged dry wall, plaster, roofing,doors, and broken tiles; paint, stain, andvarnish.13. Assist building maintenance coordinator with HVAC equipment; performnormal maintenance.14. Maintenance on City-owned Historic streetlights; install holiday lightsin CBD.15. Install and remove banners over Main Ave. for special events and seasonalbanners on Camino del Rio andSanta Rita park.16. Perform skilled and semi-skilled functions in maintaining City-ownedbuildings;17. Relocate City personnel and offices.18. Perform snow removal task as requested during winter months.19. Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide informationwithin the area of assignment; resolvecomplaints in an efficient and timely manner or refer appropri
