Denver Health Security Technician I in Denver, Colorado
Job Summary Under general supervision, perform preventative maintenance programs and schedules in addition to the emergency repair and maintenance work orders. The ultimate goal of this position is to keep facility and surrounding campus access control systems and locks in operating order.
Minimum Qualifications Education 1. High School or GED certificate required.
Experience 1. Three years’ experience in one or more of the following required: maintenance, security integration, access control, door locking hardware. 2. Experience working in a hospital environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Basic knowledge of all hand tools, equipment and machinery required to perform the jobs/tasks of a maintenance technician. 2. Knowledge and proper use of personal protective equipment as required, following appropriate safety precautions at all times. 3. Knowledge and proper use of Infection/Dust Control and Intern life Safety Measures (ILSM). 4. Exceptional customer service and communication skills that promote positive relations in dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. 5. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. 6. Exceptional organizational skills. 7. Ability to read and understand blue prints. 8. Able to work in a fast paced, changing and sometimes stressful environment where you must be flexible and learn quickly. 11. Highly detail oriented. 12. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. 13. Understanding of and maintenance of key inventory and access approval process. Computers and Technology 1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 2. Computer knowledge and skills to be proficient for work order process, spread sheets, word documents, e-mail and internet/product search. 3. Basic knowledge of cylinder locks, key-making, door hardware and locking systems.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. Possession of a valid Colorado driver’s license at all times during employment. Class "R" Colorado driver’s license.
