SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Production Manager is responsible for designing and implementing future state vision throughout the production facility according to the facility plan in the assigned production areas. Supporting servant leadership and team work driving toward improving company KPI’s (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Inventory Accuracy). Developing the team’s skills and abilities to support the growth initiatives of the company.

REPORTING TO : Director of Operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing and driving overall continuous improvements for assigned production area.

  • Perform analysis of defects for missed pitches.

  • Develop and maintain standard work.

  • Manage and develop talent within production team. Creating cross training and development plans that support the needs of BAND-IT.

  • Manage Gemba Boards (all metrics associated with production cells) and related KPI’s.

  • Facilitate Gemba walks with cross-functional support teams highlighting top Pareto issues.

  • Layout and implement “Future State Map, with support from Continuous Improvement Manager.”

  • Work with Director of Operations developing next level manufacturing vision.

  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement around the Lean Manufacturing methodology through active leadership and demonstration of expectations.

  • Achieve Value Stream implementation according to the facility plan.

  • Performance will be measured:

  • Inventory Accuracy

  • Manages across three shift production. Creating a culture of one team one BAND-IT

  • Must possess exceptional computer skills.

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must be highly organized and self motivated.

  • Experience in creating and managing a production cell improvement plan.

  • Knowledge of lean techniques with track record of implementation required.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize several distinct functions, establish levels of responsibility, delegate appropriate authority and review the work and performance of team members in a manner conductive to efficient performance and high morale.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive and accurate reports, forecasts, estimates and budgets.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees, across all functions of the organization including customers and supplies.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required.

  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations governing employment practices required.

  • Proficient in core concepts of Material flow and Kanban, 5S, Standard Work, Kaizen, Visual Management Techniques, Measurement Systems of inputs and outputs.

  • Must be relentless about continuous improvement. Willingness to learn, teach and implement new techniques for process improvement.

  • Solid PC skills, particularly with spreadsheet and/or database management.

  • Strong work and personal ethics.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BS or BA.

A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment is desired, a minimum of 2 years of experience in first and second level manufacturing supervision.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires use of hands and arms 60% of the time.

  • Majority of the time is spent walking or sitting.

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 10 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Majority of the time is spent in a climate-controlled office or manufacturing environment.

  • Noise exposure is moderate.

Mental/Visual Demands:

  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions.

  • Peripheral vision is required for safety.
