Stantec Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities Sector Lead in Denver, Colorado

Stantec’s Buildings Business Line is comprised of approximately 4,000 staff, in six countries and over 100 offices. The ongoing success of our Buildings Business Line is highly dependent on the quality and performance of our leaders working collectively across all disciplines and leadership levels.

Our Industrial Buildings team offers services for all phases of the project life cycle, from pre-project planning through detailed design, construction and operations, to decommissioning. As Prime Consultants on projects, our team collaborates with technical staff throughout th Stantec organization to provide overall leadership and direction in bringing creative, innovative, and integrated solutions to meet our Client’s needs.

Our diverse and integrated group of Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Industrial Planners and Technologist team members specialize in the functional programming, planning and design of buildings and infrastructure needs for clients within the Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Warehouse/Distribution/Logistics, and OMSF (Operations, Maintenance, and Storage Facilities) sub-sectors. Some of our OMSF projects include: aircraft hangars, heavy vehicle, and transit maintenance facilities, operations buildings, municipal works yard facilities, vehicle storage facilities, electric vehicle charging facilities, as well as military vehicle maintenance, repair and overhaul buildings.

Your Opportunity

In this OMSF Sector Leadership role, you will be accountable for the group’s business development and marketing, client relationship development and management (internal and external to Stantec), the pursuit and capture of projects in the OMSF Sector, technical excellence and quality of project delivery.

As a recognized expert in the design of OMSF facilities, your responsibility will be to grow Stantec’s “Global Expertise” and be Stantec’s lead spokesperson for this market sector. A primary focus will be to develop and implement “win” strategies, including client contact, proposal preparation, and preparation of and participation in client interviews. As an integral member of our group, you will collaborate with key staff to develop in-house expertise and methodologies (design, technical and quality standards etc.) to advance our business unit. As a leader and technical expert, you will be engaged in projects at a leadership level and contribute in a meaningful way to ensure our clients projects are successful.

Your Key Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Works collaboratively with the other Industrial and Transit Public Buildings SLs to set the tone, vision and goals of the Industrial sector including the development and execution of a business strategy and annual business plan with accountability for sector-specific strategies, priorities, and revenue.

  • Sustains and grows the net revenue of the Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities (OMSF) sector across all geographic regions (primarily in North America).

  • Focuses on global/national client and key account development including engagement with account managers.

  • Works collaboratively with the other Sector Leaders as well as regional and business line leadership to achieve key operational performance metrics.

  • Leads strategy and direction of strategic OMSF pursuits.

  • Actively works to personally grow awareness, and positions Stantec as an industry leader and innovator.

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Leads the development of marketing and business development (M&BD) plans, budgets, and key performance indicators.

  • Directs strategy and development of corporate/sector strategic pursuits, including lead development, proposal preparation, presentations, relationship management

  • Participates in and supports annual client survey process.

  • Partners with Marketing and PR to develop an annual Marketing and PR sector strategy including all collateral and branded products.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/teaming partners, builder/contractor partners and potential recruits.

  • Attends and speaks at selected conferences and maintains active memberships in associations (such as board posts and committee memberships).

  • Actively publishes thought leadership/content marketing pieces throughout the year.

  • Fosters and personally leads the development of sector specific research.

Financial Management:

  • Develops annual OMSF Sector budget for inclusion in the overall Industrial Buildings allocation budget and is responsible for meeting and reporting on budget throughout the year.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Displays an exceptionally strong understanding of the OMSF sector.

  • Demonstrates strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base.

  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership and team-building skills.

  • Exhibits an entrepreneurial orientation with strong understanding of the business development challenges of a consulting-services provider.

  • Communicates with excellent oral and written capabilities.

  • Possesses excellent organization, coordination, and managerial skills.

  • Serves as a recognized thought leader in the industry, specific to the OMSF and/or Transit sector.

  • Maintains familiarity with industry trends and industry leaders across North America.

Education and Experience

  • Possesses a professional degree and registration, preferred in Architecture or Engineering.

  • Currently holds a senior position and possesses 15 years of experience in the OMSF and/or Transit industry.

  • Experienced with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications.
