How would you like to make a sweet change in your career?Dawn Foods has what you need for your recipe for success!As a Machine Operator for Dawn Foods you will:Qualify for benefits starting day one!Enjoy working with a great team as we serve Denver.Gain valuable skills and experiences to grow your career!PRIMARY FUNCTIONSDuties may include; gathering, organizing, staging, scaling,verifying, scanning, loading, mixing and monitoring bulk ingredients.Duties may also include filling, packaging, labelling, sifter screens,tailings, scale and shortening checks.Following formula instructions to add products to kettles, adjusttemperature and mix at appropriate times and speeds.Performing quality checks as instructed to test for PH, allergens, foreignmaterials and particles.Will be responsible for breaking down, opening, and/or putting equipmentback together after finish product and cleanings.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and keep work areas andequipment neat and clean consistently throughout shiftPerform clean down procedures of food contact equipment.May be responsible for pre-start checklists, equipment checklists, batchverification counts and other documentation.Communicate problems such as equipment failure, quality issues, foodsafety or safety hazards immediately to your Shift Lead.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequentlylift and/or move 25 pounds.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly requiredto: stand, walk, use hands to grasp, move or utilize objects, toolsor controls.Must be able to reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel,crouch or crawl.The employee is occasionally required to use sensory perception for qualitymeasurement of products.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception andthe ability to focus.Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg,dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, seafood and shellfish.Environment is noisy, hot/cold. Potential for sugar / flour dust, nearsteam, and climbs up/down one flight stairs approx. 30 times per shift REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to read and interpret documents in EnglishAbility to write routine reports.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureusing whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Must be able to work well with others and independently.Forklift certified or ability to become certified.Computer skills are useful.Experience with GMPs, IFS standards, understand HACCP programs and plantsafety programs.Must be flexible with shifts, days and hours; able to work overtime andweekends with limited notification.An Equal Opportunity Employer.
