USA Millwork Installation Lead/Finish Carpenter in Denver, Colorado

Reports to: Installation Supervisor

Location: Greater Denver Area

Summary:

The Installation Lead installs millwork, glass, and metal for commercial and hospitality projects throughout the Denver Metro Area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads sub-contractor trades and installers to achieve flawless installation and zero punch list.

  • Serves as direct point of contact with end customer, their reps, contractors and others.

  • Delegates tasks, reads and understands architectural prints to meet aggressive timelines.

  • Participates in final walks, rectifies punch lists, and completes job site reporting.

  • Performs as needed, on site repairs, touch ups and finish work.

  • Diagnoses and recommends solutions for issues with millwork, hardware and low voltage (LEDs, drivers) when applicable.

  • Assembles and builds in the shop per drawings when not in the field for installation.

  • Assists in QC to touch up finishes or make adjustments prior to shipping.

  • Qualifies and recommends new resources to assist with future install programs.

  • Manages expenditures.

  • Conducts site surveys and provides detailed dimensions and location plans.

  • Performs onsite warranty work as requested.

  • Completes daily reporting of job progress, issues and recommended resolution.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not directly supervise employees but provides leadership and guidance on how to correctly complete work. It also serves as the back-up for the Installation Supervisor and makes recommendations on personnel related decisions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required):

  • 5+ years? experience as a Project Manager, Site Superintendent, or similar in commercial/retail interior construction

  • Extensive background in finish carpentry, cabinet making or similar skill set

  • Knowledge of paints/stains and proven ability to repair and conceal damages or defects in finishes

Required Education and Skills:

  • 3+ years? experience of commercial/retail interior construction

  • Proven ability to work under stressful conditions, short timelines and occasional long hours

  • Experience with millwork production methods and fabrication techniques

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Proficient working on a laptop/surface

  • Comfortable working on a computer and learning the new software
