Energy Management Corporation (EMC), located in Salt Lake City,currently has an opening for an Industrial Field Service Technician. We are a38-year-old and growing industrial automation company that sells and serviceselectrical motors, drives, and generators.The Industrial Field Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting,repairing, performing preventive maintenance as well as performing start-upson motors, drives, generators and AC units.The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, able to workwell unsupervised with attention to detail, and possess exceptional customerskills. Team members should be self-motivated with a goodmechanical/electrical aptitude, and be willing to travel overnight onoccasion or over a weekend.Required Skills: Perform preventive maintenance on generators, motors, drives, and AC units Trouble-shoot problems on generators, motors, drives, and AC units Diagnose problems using lap top computer Perform repairs on generators, motors, drives, and AC units Perform start-ups on new equipment Perform warranty work on new equipment Process required paperwork in a timely manner Responsible for communicating repairs needed to both the customer andservice manager Responsible for parts inventory on service truck Responsible for tracking time and expenses each day Responsible for cleaning up after themselves Willing to participate in the rotating responsibility of a 24/7on-call-technician Able to comprehend and troubleshoot from wiring schematicsPreferred Skills: Generator, motor, drive and AC diagnostic skills Previous experience in the generator, motor, drive and AC fields Knowledge in AC and DC electrical HVAC experience with diagnosticcapabilities Knowledge on the basic workings of a diesel engine Willingness to train in the company programs to enhance his or hergenerator knowledge Trade school education in HVAC systems Experience working with power generator equipment for a minimum of threeyearsPreferred Certifications: EGSA and/or CDL certified would be a plus. Strong welding experience a plus. EPA 608 certification Motor vibrationApplicants must be able to fulfill the physical duties of the job, whichinclude being able to stand or walk for long periods of time, occasionallysit, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel, use wrists and hands forusing tools, and looking down at the product being built. Applicants must beable to reach with hands and arms. Applicants must also be able to regularlylift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25pounds.
