What you’ll be working on:

Verify Estimating team is prepared for the bid. Pre-close bid tabs. Prepare trend pricing for projects in Oil and Gas Preconstruction. Provide conceptual budgetary pricing. Coordinate and clarify scope internally and externally. Assist Preconstruction team during project turnover to Operations. Work with customers to understand required layout of oil and gas skid mounted systems. Must have a working knowledge of

  • Pre-close bids.

  • Conceptual budgetary pricing.

  • Oil and Gas equipment knowledge such as; sand traps, separators, saltwater disposal units, LACTS, gas compression skids, piping skids, meter skids and pump skids.

  • Material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.

  • Quotes and coordinate/qualify scope with vendors and subcontractors.

  • Database pricing.

What is expected of an Electrical Estimator:

  • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas skidded equipment and industry standard codes such as ASME BPVC Sec. VIII, Div. 1 & 2, B31.1, B31.3, etc.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.

  • Track productivity on past projects and follow up on past awards.

  • Fill in minor and major scope/design gaps.

  • Provide detailed breakouts for customers.

  • Provide extensive value engineering ideas.

  • Review all project documents and identify scope of work.

  • Conceptual layout and design of skidded system based upon customer requirements

  • Identify and document difficult/non-standard conditions.

  • Clarify scope with General Contractor and Engineer.

  • Completely assemble the bid tab in a timely manner.

  • Verify estimate accuracy by comparing data versus similar bids.

  • Liaison between Estimating and Operations.

  • Provide complete and accurate trade specific estimates.

  • Assemble bid tab with estimates and vendor/sub quotes.

  • Identify value engineering opportunities.

  • Indirect Supervision.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, shop specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 10.

    Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.

  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.

  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.

  • Work in all types of weather.

  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.

  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects
