As an glazing estimator you will be completing residential/commercial or multifamily take-offs from builder blueprints and complete material and labor estimates.
Interpret blueprints and CAD drawings to create load calculations and designs
Estimate material amounts and cost of labor to complete the installation of insulation in residential / commercial homes and building
Communicate directly to the customer/builder when necessary
Evaluate project leads to determine scope of work, contractual requirements and create a bidding strategy.
Develop accurate and concise clarifications and assumptions from contractors/architects
Manage multiple estimating projects concurrently with ability to multi-task
Solve problems and conflicts with potential glazing systems and the customization needed to meet architectural requirements
Develop unit cost accurately with profitability margins
Consider and understand problems and identify appropriate solutions
High School Diploma or GED.
Understand how to read blue prints, draw and draft design plans.
Familiar with inspector guidelines and safety precautions.
Commercial glass experience including but not limited to curtain wall systems, storefront systems, sunshades, structural glass walls, glass handrailing’s and more.
Prepare material take-offs and complete cost estimates for a complete proposal.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Bluebeam and or other take-off programs.
Good analytical skills as well as communication skills with the ability to identify project shortfalls and communicate this to General Contractors.
Positive attitude and desire for growth and success.
Position requires a drug test and motor vehicle report to be completed, contingent upon employment.
Bend, walk and stand for periods of time
Ascend ladders or scaffolds if needed
