There may or may not be opportunities at the time ofsubmitting the application of interest.The HVAC Department works within The Department of Facility Management.Facility Management manages over 15 million square feet of enclosed buildingspace in 226 schools located in 173 DPS owned facilities and 10 Administrativefacilities and just under 2,000 acres. Seventeen percent of our facilitiesare registered historic landmarks. We are the 2nd largest facility manager inthe city (after City and County of Denver).Positions within the HVAC Department:- Boiler/Combustion Technician- Controls Technician- Diagnostic and Analytic Equipment Technician- Motor Repair Technician- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician- Steam/Hydronic System TechnicianMinimum Requirements and Desired Skills (will vary based on position):- High School Diploma or equivalent.- Two to ten years experience and training; minimum as follows:L1: Two (2) years related experience,L2: Four (4) years experience,L3: Ten (10) years journeyman experience, including one (1) yearinternal experience.- Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's license and meet Districtinsurability standards.- Ability to pass the Respirator and Fit Test requirements: Annually andupon hire during a physical exam or be able to demonstrate the ability towear a properly fitted respirator.- Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels, in all departments.- Ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing.- Journeyman's license and specific certifications may be required based onposition.Benefits: DPS Benefits Website- Benefit credits/subsidies towards health care premiums for Aetna andKaiser health plans.- HSA and Flex savings accounts available.- Additional Voluntary plans include Dental, Vision, and more.- Colorado PERA Retirement Plan with options for 403(b) and 457 plans.- Generous yearly accruals for time off include: 13 paid holidays, 12 sickdays, 2 personal days, and 19 vacation days.- Work/life balance.- Opportunities for training and advancement.- Company vehicle.- Wellness Program and much more.Other information:Thank you for your interest in the DPS Maintenance Department.
