Job Description 3rd Shift Production Supervisor - Denver CODescription/Job SummaryTitle: 3rd Shift Production SupervisorLocation: Denver, COPosition: Full Time / Permanent / Direct HireSummary:Our Denver facility is expanding and we are looking for a 3rd shift ProductionSupervisor.The Production Supervisor oversees all aspects of day to dayproduction and manufacturing personnel activities, leads team meetings,and facilitates continuous improvements in the process with emphasis onquality, reduction of cost and waste. Responsible for ensuring theproduction of a quality product and meeting production/customerspecifications while achieving plant productivity objectives.Essential Job Functions:Directly supervise production employees by assigning tasks, monitoring workprogress, mentoring new team members and delivering performance feedback andcoaching.Ability to identify and correct unsafe situations and/or behaviors and modelsafety in all you do.A team player possessing excellent communication skills and having the abilityto plan, prioritize and organize work effectively.Able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, work under pressure andmeet deadlines.Assess situations, make judgments, analyze problems (not justsymptoms), make logical decisions and carry out the decisions made.Work as a team with other Supervisors to achieve company goals and objectives.Ensure that work is satisfactorily completed to achieve product qualitystandards and meet customer requirements and expectations.Operate equipment and move material as needed to maintain production and meetschedules.Thoroughly communicate all needed information with other departments.Work with Plant Management, maintenance, Quality, and Engineering tosolve production challenges.Enforce company policies and rules.Ensure safe working conditions and rectify any issues.Responsible for the training, motivation, discipline, and measuring ofemployees' performance as necessary to complete evaluations (includingtemporary staffing).Supervise overall plant operations by planning, prioritizing,organizing, and delegating work effectively.Lead employees by personal example in safety, productivity, efficiency,process improvement and quality.Troubleshoot production lines and coach Line Operators.Ensure the general operating procedures and guidelines are followed inproduction by all shift personnel.Perform other job related duties as may be necessary to carry out theresponsibilities of this position.Ensure the organization is in place and that all individuals within theorganization have their roles clearly understood. Work with Group Leaders toachieve the targets of each key operational indicator.Participate as required in Continuous Improvement teams and provide leadershipand support to teams in their efforts to meet and exceed targeted capitalcosts.Employ the principles of Lean manufacturing for elimination of waste andoptimization of labor efficiencies.Position Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent. College preferred.Ten years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the paper industry.Minimum three years of proven supervisory or leadership experience in amanufacturing environment is required.Knowledge of manufacturing, production, safety and quality processesDemonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principlesFork lift and material handling experienceStrong decision making-skills and proven ability to prioritizeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComputer literacy, including proficient skills in Microsoft Excel,Outlook, Word and PowerPointThe Company has reviewed this job description to ensure that essentialfunctions and basic duties have been included.
