Position Purpose:Under direction, perform routine preventative maintenance on all plantequipment and some troubleshooting / repairs. The employee should be able tocoordinate maintenance vendors to handle any facility breakdown.Key Job Activities:1) Preventative maintenance (grease, lube, trim, install,etc....). Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machinescontinue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and thephysical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.2) Unscheduled downtime repairs (re-set breaker, change common part,connect linkage, seal area, follow instruction from knowledgeableperson, etc.). Repair or replace defective equipment parts using handtools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. Use tools ranging fromcommon hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills,and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical andelectronic testing devices. Light truck and trailer maintenance (proximityligh3) Assist in inspecting Equipment (boiler, autoclave, compactor,washer, etc.). Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correctthem, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.4) Equipment/ boiler testing (utilizing water test kit, etc.).Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replacefilters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.5) Assist in scheduling repairs (initiating repair or performingrepair). Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical andelectronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, andequipment. Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings,blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams. Filling out andfiling reports (boiler, maintenance, etc.). Record maintenance andrepair work performed and the costs of the work.6) General housekeeping of the shop and tool storage area (understandsimportance of housekeeping, performs housekeeping).7) Performs other related duties as required or requested.Education:Required Education: in Associates or EquivalentExperience Required:Three (3) years plus of maintenance experience in a manufacturingenvironment and experience with welding, machine shop tools and power tools.Experience with preventative maintenance such as boilers, autoclave,compactors, washers. Mechanical/ hydraulic and pneumatics concepts relatedto manufacturing equipment. Experience with machine mechanical and electricaldiagnostics, fabricating repair parts by using machine shop tools andequipment. Troubleshooting and maintaining equipment. Will be responsible forchecking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating neededequipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders;verifying receipt.
