Job SpecificationsThis position requires relocation to Cripple Creek, Colorado. We are seekingexperienced Journeyman Lineman to join our growing energy and utility company.You MUST have completed a four (4) year Lineman apprentice program andpossess a Journeyman Lineman designation to be considered. This important rolewill provide new overhead and underground electric service to customers. Youwill perform work in construction and maintenance of overhead and undergroundprimary and secondary lines. Black Hills Energy does not sponsor applicantsfor work visas. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US.LOCATION: Cripple Creek, ColoradoTo learn more about this location, please visit the location page on ourcareers website.PAY RANGE:$10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for this position!DOL Certified: $44.76 per hourNon-DOL Certified: $43.68 per hourOvertime on Saturday and Sunday is paid at double time.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: (UN667) Electric Operations SupervisorESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Perform switching operations on transmission and distribution systems.Skilled in repair and maintenance functions on service, secondary,distribution, and transmission systems.Proficient in erection and setting of utility poles and structures,conductor pulling and stringing operations, transformer connections, andtroubleshooting.Troubleshoot, install, replace or repair primary and secondary spans ofboth underground and overhead systems.Safely performs energizing or de-energizing of electrical lines andtransformers through the use of dead-front elbows, jumpers, fusedcutouts, reclosers, switches, and switchgear.Has a working knowledge of meter installation and removal to include properdocumentationProficient in hot work procedures utilizing both rubber gloves and sleeves,as well as hot stick procedures.Assists with the required training of apprentice lineman following ourinternal Joint Apprenticeship Committee standards.Work on power quality and system reliability issues as required.Utilize electric equipment to perform and complete daily tasks.Proficient in record keeping with the ability to utilize computer programs.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Must be able to work outside, in extreme weather and temperature forextended periods of time.This position may also include some travel for specialized training to otherBlack Hills Energy locations and for mutual aid storm work.Required to perform stand-by as an outage first responder.Willing to stay over-night out of town and be available to travel as projectsrequire.Willing to work overtime for after-hours callouts and extended days.Must live within 60 minutes of reporting location.QUALIFICATIONS (DOL):A Journeyman Lineman - DOL shall have completed a qualified (4) yearapprenticeship and be Department of Labor (DOL) certified, and shall becapable of performing all types of line and service work in accordance withthe Company's established construction standards, operation standards,company policies and safety practices.High School Diploma or equivalent required.Ability to attain and maintain a valid Colorado CDL Class "A" Driver'slicense within 90 days of hire.Must have completed a qualified apprenticeship program and have a Departmentof Labor Certification.QUALIFICATIONS (NON DOL):A Journeyman Lineman - NON DOL shall have completed a qualified (4) yearapprenticeship and be Department of Labor (DOL) certified, or havecompleted 7200 hours of documented lineman training and be able to obtainDepartment of Labor (DOL) certification within eighteen (18) monthsfrom date of hire.
