CITY OF CORTEZ Building Maintenance Technician ll in CORTEZ, Colorado

Building Maintenance Technician IIDuties: Performs skilled work in the construction and remodel of buildingsand facilities. Interprets plans, blueprints and observes building codestandards.Operates and maintains power equipment (i.e., saws, drills, routers,etc.) in performing skilled carpentry work.Assists building maintenance supervisor in making major and minor repairs toelectrical controls, wiring, air conditioning and HVAC units, plumbingand plumbing fixtures, and all other miscellaneous mechanical equipment.Implements maintenance work orders, schedules, and provides inventory oftools, equipment and materials.Paints interior and exterior of buildings and facilities. Orders and picks upparts and materials.Replaces light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, switches, and fixtures.Replaces intake and exhaust filters.Assists building maintenance supervisor in implementing the maintenanceschedules.Keeps daily log of work completed.Performs other duties as assigned.Skills: Ability to physically withstand strain of performing manual tasksfor long periods.Ability to plan and organize work. Ability to perform skilled and semi-skilledtasks in repair and maintenance of all City buildings.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with fellowemployee and general public.Ability to work unsupervised or independent for extended periods of time.Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.Must have general knowledge of computers.Other Requirements:Three years experience in building trades and/or general maintenance ofbuildings and mechanical equipment.Must be 18 years of age or older.Possess a valid CO drivers license.Be able to pass a drug test and background check.Have a high school diploma or equivalent.Wage: $1745-$25.34 per hourShift: This is a full time positionLocation: CortezBenefits: Great benefits package including medical, dental,retirement, life insurance, paid funeral leave, vacation and sick leave.APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:1.
