City of Commerce City Batting Cage Attendant in Commerce City, Colorado
Under general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the Batting Cage Attendant will carry out the assigned duties as specified for the batting cages. Provides supervision of the facility as assigned. Must be accountable and flexible. Primarily responsible for serving the needs of the patrons participating in the batting cages. Weekend and evening hours will be scheduled.
The hiring range for this position is $12.32 - $14.12 per hour.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sells tokens, passes, and misc. point of sale items. Handouts equipment to patrons.
Ensures participant experience by enforcing facility program rules, regulations, and procedures.
Must ensure set up and clean up of equipment at the beginning and end of each shift.
Ensures facilities and equipment are left in a secure condition by closing and locking all gates, windows, doors, and setting alarms.
Assist in maintenance or cleaning of the playing and surrounding area.
Provides excellent customer service to the public and staff alike. Responds to participants and general public using courteous and effective communication to provide information and resolve conflicts as necessary.
Keeps accurate records and various reports.
Participates in the recommendation and evaluation of improvements to the batting cages that will assist to provide maximum enjoyment for all the participants.
Answers telephone calls on batting cages, provides general information regarding fees, hours, etc.
Assist with ensuring the safety of participants.
Performs other routine office functions and special assignments as directed by the Athletic Supervisor.
Provide exceptional customer service in person and on the phone.
Assist with all PR department special events as needed.
Must comply with City and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Previous experience with batting cages preferred but not required. Requires high school graduation or equivalent. Must possess current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire.

Minimal error tolerance when handling cash transactions
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to carry out assigned tasks proficiently. Good conflict resolution skills.
Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to substitute for other team members when necessary and work special events.
Experience in telephone courtesy
Prior customer service experience preferred.
Cash handling experience preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate with various age groups
