Samtec, Inc.Samtec is looking for two Test Operators to work first shift in our ColoradoSprings facility. First shift hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. This is a tempto hire opportunity. Pay is $14.50 - $ 17.50 per hour and is commensuratewith experience. Standard benefit offerings available during temporary statusare health, dental, vision, term life, short term disability, ADandDand EAP, if full time status is offered standard benefits are medical(HSA/PPO) dental, vision, group life, ADandD, short and longterm disability, EAP, 401K plus other voluntary options, as well as paid time oAs a test operator, the main objective will be to prepare optical enginesfor the various testing processes, handle the engines from trays totesters, and distribute failures from passing product. It is expected thatan operator maintains the highest quality production standards, a pleasantand professional working demeanor, exhibits a responsive manner towardauthority and direction, and be able to work in a clean work environment.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:1. Be able to use tweezers to pick/place Optical Engines from trays, totabletop testers, and back.2. Perform measurements, alignment and testing of optical cable3. Have a good understanding of the work instructions that apply to the area4. Read, comprehend and be able to build orders according toinformation/specifications found on blueprints and PICS5. Must be familiar with all equipment and tooling and understand how and whyit is used in the assembly process6. Must be able to use a microscope for extended periods of time7. Maintain in process workflow in a lean manufacturing environment8. Must a have a quality mindset throughout all processes9. Communicate effectively with co-workers (both written and verbal)10. Must have patience with new, tedious processes and have the creativemindset to suggest ideas for improved processes and tooling11. Must be willing to pay attention to detail The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a generalguideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additionaltasks depending on strengths and capabilities.Required Experience: 1. One Year Production/Manufacturing experience. Physical Requirements: 1. Steady hands 2. Good hand/eye coordinationPreferred Education: 1. High school diploma or equivalent required.Training Required: 1. On the job training as appropriate.
