SUMMARY:The Director of Maintenance is responsible to the Director of AviationOperations for the economical and efficient accomplishment of all aircraftmaintenance functions of the Repair Station in order to provide an airworthyaircraft to the customer. The Director of Maintenance is responsible foroverall management of all hangar direct reports and their subordinates, andcoordinates with other departments regarding the scheduling of aircraftmaintenance and personnel activities. The Director of Maintenance may delegateall assigned duties to any qualified assistant as necessary. However, suchdelegation does not relieve the Director of Maintenance of overallresponsibiliPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Plans maintenance and directs members of staff to assure they carry out allmaintenance, modification and engineering activities safely, on time,and within allocated costs.Responsible for aircraft, tooling, equipment, materials, andactivities within the hangar and on the adjacent ramp.Coordinates with the Chief Inspector to ensure compliance with all RepairStation requirements.Coordinates with the Chief Inspector and Training Manager for the developmentand establishment of suitable maintenance training programs to ensure allpersonnel have the knowledge and experience necessary to perform theirassigned duties.Makes periodic safety inspections of the working areas and takes necessarysteps to correct any discrepancies noted.Responsible for the on-time completion of all maintenance and modificationservices.Continually reviews the overall maintenance effort to assure maximum safetyand operating efficiency at a minimum of cost.Coordinates with other departments to schedule maintenance and work force toaccomplish work programs as required.Establishes programs for the department to aid members of the supervisorystaff in enforcing company policies and procedures within budget guidelines.Ensures sufficient quantity of properly qualified employees for the volume ofwork in progress.Establishes work standards, hours of work, and shifts to be worked.Reviews maintenance delays and system problems and suggests improvedmaintenance procedures.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular useof ingenuity and creativity.Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in aproject leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations wouldtypically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts andprojects.
