Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World High Voltage Electrician-3DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary purpose of this position is to provide base operations supportthrough the performance of a variety of electrical trade functions such as theinstallation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation,distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Electrician Work involvesmost of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety ofelectrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards,controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduitsystems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints,drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosingtrouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computationsrelating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using avariety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.Perform repairs and preventive maintenance to real property facilities andequipment, to include repair and replacement. Perform electricaltroubleshooting, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance andrepairs on electrical and electronic equipment, and auxiliary equipment.Install a variety of electrical equipment including, generators,breakers, transformers, switchboards, controllers, conduit systems,motors, etc. Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts and otherspecifications. Perform computations relating to load requirements of wiringor electrical equipment. Use a variety of electricians' hand tools,measuring, and testing equipment. Properly fill out all necessary paperworkrelated to work performed. Perform duties in lower related jobclassifications. Perform cleaning and housekeeping required in performance ofnormal maintenance and repair activities. Perform other related duties asassigQUALIFICATIONSIn general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires roundedtraining and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship orequivalent training and experience. Minimum of 5 years' related experienceand/or formal vocational/technical training. Must have a valid Coloradoelectrical license. HS Diploma or equivalent required. Must be able tosuccessfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1)background check. Must have and maintain a valid CO state driver's license.Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminalrecord check. Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Companypolicy, to operate a company vehicle. Must have practical knowledge ofworksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices. Mustbe able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold /heat, etc.). Must be able to perform On-call duties when scheduled andreport to work within one hour of notification. Must be able to work alternateshift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of thecustomer, to include weekends and holidays. Duties will require frequentperiods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching,crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to bend, stoop, andlift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
