Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Electrician ,HiVoltage: Ft. Carson BOSA High Volt Electrician performs a variety of electrical trade functions suchas the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment vital to theElectrical Distribution System on Fort Carson. The High Volt Electrician willperform maintenance and repair on the multiple exterior lighting systems onFort Carson. These systems include Streetlights/Parking lot lights,Traffic Lights, and Airfield lighting. Work involves most of thefollowing: testing of electrical systems and equipment for the integrity andproper function. Working from blueprints, drawings and maps; locate anddiagnose trouble in the electrical systems or equipment using a variety ofelectricians hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.A High Volt Electrician will also assist Lineman in the maintenance and repairof Transformers, Electrical Switches, Cables, Wires and ElectricalVaults, Troubleshooting and making repairs when large power interruptionsoccur as well as preventing such outages from occurring. The High Volt Electrician works with high voltage electricity and mustthoroughly understand OSHA regulations and have an in-depth knowledge ofelectrical safety. Depending on the location and source of the problems theyhave to deal with, high voltage electricians may be required to work notonly indoors but outdoors as well as and in extreme conditions, confinedspaces and at excessive heights. This position requires being on a rotating oncall schedule for 24/7 emergency repairs.SKILLS/REQUIREMENTSSuccessful candidate must be capable of working safely on all high voltagesystems, 600 volts and up, both above ground and underground.Be capable of working on overhead lighting and lighting circuits and allphases of exterior electric systems.Must have a Valid CO Commercial Driver's License Class B or higher.Must have a Journeyman's Electricians LicenseEEO is the Law PosterEEO is the Law Poster SupplementPAE is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
