Jewelry Associates are responsible for sorting and classifying jewelry, taking photos, and listing the jewelry on Shopgoodwill.com. Knowledge of jewelry is not required but is a plus. An eye for detail is a must for this position!

Our Goodwill is growing, and our E-Commerce group is expanding its production hours. Advancement opportunities may become available for the right candidate.

Shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

This position will start at $12.50 per with an increase to $12.85 per hour upon successful completion of Key Productivity Indicators.

OBJECTIVE:

The E-Commerce Jewelry Sorter Associate will work in a fast-paced production type of environment and will be responsible for sorting through bulk raw jewelry product to identify and classify appropriate, quality jewelry for on-line sales and retail center sale. The Jewelry Sorter Associate will ensure that production goals are met through inventory control, product transfer, and tracking of incoming and outgoing merchandise. Responsible for palletizing and preparing product for transport. Duties include accurately sorting merchandise into separate quality categories, boxing items, and authenticating items to prepare for the Processing stage while adhering to daily goals and quotas. Cross training may be required in other areas of the Ecommerce Jewelry department as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that production goals are met through product identification, inventory control, product transfer, and tracking of incoming and outgoing merchandise. Performs quality control duties appropriate to achieve and maximize the highest volume of production in order to meet and/or exceed jewelry sales goals.

  • Prepare items into sets/groupings, identify markings, categorize, and some testing of items for authentication. Ex: Magnet testing metals

  • Noting item condition or providing other notes for Processing stage. Ex: “Magnetic. Needs Test”, “For Repair”.

  • Follow Company procedures and policies for handling the donations by shelving inventory to ensure that items are easily located.

  • Palletizing processed product and prepare for transport by use of pallet jack.

  • Provide a clean and organized work area to promote a safe environment for employees and customers.

  • Cross-train in other E-Commerce areas and act as a back-up for other areas as required.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to stand for 8 hours per day.

  • Able to lift heavy merchandise 50+ lbs frequently by self or with assistance by team lifting.

  • Visual acuity. Able to sufficiently see objects up close and frequently use magnification to view small markings.

  • Fine motor skills and physical dexterity.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience of high-end jewelry merchandise including but not limited to fine gold and silver jewelry pieces, gemstones, original artist creations, Native American jewelry and accessories, antique jewelry collections, vintage costume jewelry, high end wristwatch identification, etc. is preferred.

  • Able to effectively use Internet Search Engines, Microsoft Office and other software platforms.

  • Able to communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, staff, and peers through verbal and electronic means.

  • Able to work occasional overtime, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
