Overview:
Position available consists of general construction laborer work including placing buried service wire underground. This position performs trenching and laborer related duties including drops, hand digging, plow and trenching and assisting the crew leader or foreman with tasks as needed including spotting utilities as needed and handling material on site. Work performed in this position will be out of the Colorado Springs office and in the San Luis Valley area. This position will travel for work from Monte Vista, CO. Local candidates preferred
Pay Range: The hourly pay range for this position is $17.00 to $19.00 hourly.
Responsibilities:
Shoveling
Repairing and replacing drops
Trenching new areas for drops as needed by customer.
Placing and digging up buried service wire
Keeping work areas clean before; during and after job completion.
Operating non-CDL equipment and vehicles as needed
Maintaining truck cleanliness; inside and out
Assisting crew leader/foreman with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be minimum of 21 years old to drive company vehicles/operate company equipment
Valid driver license
Must be able to effectively communicate with crew.
Be available to work overtime and emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Maintain a positive attitude with team.
Maintain good public relations (interact with the public in a courteous manner)
Must have reliable transportation
Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools
Must have strong physical endurance for hot weather conditions, repetitive bending, stooping, lifting, transferring equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
Must be available to work a schedule of Monday to Friday; 7:00am to 5:00pm with the possibility of overtime; after-hours, and being on-call as needed to fulfill business needs.
Must pass company drug testing
Keep appropriate documentation (time cards, job cost, etc.)
Applicants are required to pass all company drug testing, submit to a background check and adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by company as required.
